ALIVE Project
Project Background
The Accrediting Learning through Informal, Voluntary Education (ALIVE) project is designed to support the voluntary youth sector in Berkshire to develop use of both peer education and accreditation frameworks. This one year pilot is funded by the Local Network Fund.
It is the role of ALIVE to:
- Work with six youth groups from across the county to offer a range of accreditation models suitable for each area’s needs and the expectations of the operating organisation
- Work with the youth groups to consult their young people regarding the kinds of activities they would like to be provided with and the accreditation framework most suitable for them
- Provide training for participating club leaders regarding accreditation frameworks (as required)
- Recruit a bank of ALIVE Facilitators - young peer educators who will be trained then supported to design packages of learning around a variety of topics. These packages can then be delivered and accredited within participating clubs
- To ensure a uniformed and quality experience, the ALIVE committee will meet on a regular basis
- We will identify future funding sources suitable for the project’s development
