BACYP Training Compliance
BACYP encourages all of its members and clubs to undertake training that promotes good practise in the youth club environment. To help promote this we ask that every club has thought through the process and, as part of the affiliation to BACYP, we ask that all clubs have policies available to leaders and members, these include:
- Safeguarding Young People
- Health and safety
- First aid
- Accident investigation and prevention
- Training
- Fire regulations
- Staff vetting
- Equal opportunities
BACYP has worked with other youth organisations to prepare some policy templates for our affiliated members support.
As part of our commitment to giving every young person the best possible opportunity we provide a range of courses to support the youth work programme. Full details are on our training calendar, but they include:
- Basic risk assessment
- Safeguarding young people
- First aid
- Equal opportunities
- Disability discrimination
- Food hygiene
We are promoting a quality mark scheme for youth clubs in Berkshire through the National Clubs for Young People, which has been endorsed by the National Youth Agency and the Department for Education and Skills.
