Gillette Cup

After a year out of the Gillette Cup we came back this year with a renewed enthusiasm for the event. The national u 16 11aside Football contest is always a toughly fought competition and we had our work cut out to beat London and Buckinghamshire in the round robin stage.

Unfortunately our quest for the title came to an end when we lost out to Hertfordshire in the last round. Hertforshire went on to beat Wales and now ply in th ecoming weeks in the Semi Finals.

Taste of Sport

BACYP is worked with the Learning Skills Council (LSC) to engage with young people (age 16-19) who are undecided on their career path.

Taste of Sport was a fun and interactive event that engaged young people in developing an understanding and knowledge of how they can get that first opportunity to develop a career in the world of sport and leisure.

A multitude of organisations were invited to showcase the opportunities they can provide.  The opportunities were varied and include training providers, volunteer opportunities and career pathways.

This fantsically interactive event includes simulators, scrummage machines, fishing techniques as well as the latest information pods from SkillsActive, provided young people with the opportunity to find information on Career, training or education pathways in the Sport and Leisure Industry.
