Motorwise
Motorwise is an exciting course which has been developed with the aim of helping young people reach the age of 17 with a clean driving license and to survive beyond the age of 22 free from injuries caused by motor related incidents.
Its main objectives are to:
- Reduce the number of young drivers involved in traffic related incidents
- Raise the awareness of the hazards facing new drivers
- Raise the understanding of the legal requirements when using a motor vehicle
- Improve the knowledge of young drivers when purchasing a second-hand vehicle
If you are interested in motor vehicles and road safety, then this programme is for you.
The Motorwise course has five workshops:
- Road safety - how to stay alive on the road
- Buying a second-hand car
- First at the scene of a crash - how to save a life
- Streetwise - how to survive a year of motoring
- Driving – driving real cars
First Aid at Work
This four day course is very intensive. It aims to equip the participants with the necessary skills to carry out safe, prompt and effective first aid within the workplace. The course culminates in an approved examination paper followed by a three stage practical assessment.
All successful participants will receive an approved Health and Safety Executive (HSE) First Aid at Work certificate, which is valid for three years.
Paediatric First Aid for Children and Babies
A one day course developed especially for those who work with or who are responsible for children and babies. It provides a sound knowledge of the first aid procedures necessary when working with young people. The course equips participants with the ability to recognise and treat many childhood conditions and illnesses.
All successful participants will receive an approved HSE First Aid at Work certificate, which is valid for three years.
Appointed Persons First Aid
This course is aimed at those persons who will be acting as cover in the absence of the main first aider. It is recommended as the minimum requirement for all youth workers and those employed in environments for young people.
All successful participants will receive an approved HSE First Aid at Work certificate, which is valid for three years.
First Aid for Young People
This training is aimed at raising the awareness of young people to their role of possible lifesavers in any given emergency situation.
All participants receive a certificate of attendance.
Safeguarding Young People
This course is designed for individuals who work with and around young people. It equips them with the necessary skills, knowledge and attitude to provide a place of safety for all young people. The course provides participants with an opportunity to discuss their responsibilities in relation to child protection issues and good practice around health and safety issues.
